Digging Through the Past: Archaeology AT Claude Moore Park
The Loudoun Archaeological Foundation and the Claude Moore Historic Park have join forces to present an exciting, historical and educational event, Digging through the Past. You will discover and work with Loudouns ancient artifacts, and see how tools were made long ago. You can search out spots in CMP where early people found stones to make their tools. You will be able to use clay from the ground to make and fire your own pot. Dr. David T. Clark and the staff from the Loudoun Archaeological Foundation will help you explore the ancient world as you try out the methods of field archaeology. Come and join the fun!

The Loudoun Archaeological Foundation conducted a public archaeology program at the annual Fourth of July celebration at Claude Moore Park Historic Area. The adults and children saw artifacts that archaeologists have found at Prehistoric and Civil War sites. The program introduced ancient technology of Native Americans and how archaeologists discover secrets about ancient people. There were several hands on activities for children, the children and adults had a lot of fun. It was an exciting and educational event for all ages. Old Fashioned Fourth of July (All ages) 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
