Professional archaeologists organize annual meetings to:
- present their findings
- conduct peer review and discussion
- exchange ideas
This exchange of information can be of great benefit to local communities. Many meeting are open to the public, but the larger conferences move annually to different regional cities. A system of local to national meetings is conducted annually for each area.
